Testimonials

Simply stated, I feel safe with them.

I can't adequately describe the profound feeling of gratitude that I have for Symphony Care Management. Their ability to help me navigate the care of my loved ones is truly extraordinary. Equally important to me is the utter humanity that they bring to their daily work. Simply stated, I feel safe with them. They have my absolute highest recommendation.

If it hadn’t been for the help of Symphony Care Management, I honestly don’t know where my wife and I would be today.

Thanks to Symphony’s deep expertise, experience, profound care, and robust network, my wife is now safe in a memory-care facility – safe in that she can no longer wander, is properly nourished, regularly receives the meds she so needs, and can take advantage of lots of engaging programs. Even before my wife’s placement, Symphony was by my side in so many ways: connecting me to and orchestrating companion care services, coaching me on medication management and engagement techniques as Alzheimer’s took hold of my wife, and – yes – providing me, as the primary caregiver then, lots of emotional and practical support. Exactly the shoulder I needed to be able to lean on!  Props to Aging Life Care Manager Lizzy Carr throughout – Lizzy, you were (and are!) amazing!

Joan and Lizzy are an amazing team.

I first got to know them when my father was hospitalized and I quickly discovered both he and my mother needed more care than I could manage from afar. They knew what resources my parents needed and where to get them, but were also forward looking and actively involved in monitoring when their needs might change.

Since my father passed away they have continued to help with managing my mother’s care, and now my older brother’s care as well. I am constantly in awe of how calm and empathetic (and yet still efficient) they can be when I am just completely falling apart. And I have great confidence knowing that they work together closely so that if something comes up suddenly and one of them is not available, I know the other is fully up to speed and always on the case.

An advocate in times when I felt like giving up.

Joan Harris has been my eyes and ears on the ground for my uncle for almost five years. She's advocated for him at times when I felt like giving up. One of the things I like best is her ability to plan quickly for all scenarios. Joan's knowledge of the area and the players in it have proven invaluable and cost-effective. I could not care for my uncle better if I lived next door.

The old phrase “I couldn’t have done it without you” rings true here.

Life takes many quick turns.  Some are happy times and others are sad times.  In most cases we are prepared for these changes.  Quick and happy times are usually easy to deal with.  However, when there is a down turn especially with a family member’s health status, we are never prepared. These uncharted events can be impossible to deal with and understand.  I recently experienced this”twist” in life with my Brother.  His health was spiraling down rapidly.  I could not make decisions.  I live out of State and needed professional help, assistance and guidance.

I was fortunate to find Symphony Care Management.  From the moment I hired Joan Harris of Symphony Care Management, my prayers were answered.  Every need, health care service and direction were provided.  I received detailed phone calls and e-mails describing every step taken to make my brother’s conditions better.  Suggestions like which extended care facility to send him to, arranging physician appointments and taking him there.

Joan Harris of Symphony Care Management provided medical support and most of all emotional support for me and my family.  The health care industry has become extremely sophisticated and complicated to navigate.
I now realize I was able to provide exceptional care for my loved one.

The old phrase “I couldn’t have done it without you” rings true here. The Symphony Care Management staff have become new family members forever.  And thank you Joan Harris.

Managing everything from hospital transfers, rehab placement
to out patient care.

I would definitely recommend Symphony care management to any one looking for a care manager. Last Summer we employed their services when I was leaving the country and my aunt who had just had brain surgery was failing in health. Joan managed everything from hospital transfers, rehab placement to out patient care. Joan was more than a care giver to my aunt and some times played the role of adviser and encourager-in-chief to my aunt. My aunt went on to transition into semi independent living. We continue to seek advice from her and use her services as needed. We could not have managed with out Joan. Sincere gratitude from Florence and myself.

A deep understanding of geriatric issues.

Joan was extremely helpful to me with both my elderly parents.  She has a deep understanding of geriatric issues, both from a medical and social perspective.  She has a strong network of medical and other caregivers that she brings to bear.  And she is very accessible and reliable.  She brought me real peace of mind and was a pleasure to work with.

Joan helped our family move from crisis to acceptance and healing.

Joan Harris has been amazing helping our family with the devastating reality of dealing with  a loved one diagnosed Alzheimer disease.  She helped us find the right facility for my wife, she helped mediation with my adult children at a time when communication broke down. We are now as a family working on acceptance and healing because Joan helped us get out of crisis mode.

It would be impossible to navigate our mother’s needs without Joan’s help.

Joan Harris is an invaluable asset to our family.  Our  independent and bright mother has been struggling with more than one type of dementia for over two years.  Joan has been consistently inventive, caring and forward thinking in her work with our mother and with us.  She is extremely responsive when any of us reaches out, has educated us well about dementia and strategies to help our mother and has managed the very difficult time of the pandemic smoothly and confidently.  It would be impossible for us to work and navigate our mother’s needs without Joans’s help.  Joan is able to say the hard things that need to be said while understanding and attending to the emotional impact.  We are very grateful to work with her and have her with us on this difficult life journey.
